Pride vs. Humility, Who wins?

There is a battle ranging on each and every day. Are you part of it, and are you fighting?

A soldier wakes up each day to find that he is part of a constant battle. As the soldier loses interest in the battle, a loss of awareness enters and makes him susceptible to attack.

First, the soldier covers himself with clothing and armor, eats a good meal, and gathers with the army to walk side by side to battle. These are his daily war preparations.

But something happened today, this soldier thinks if he can sneak to infiltrate the enemy all alone and win the battle for all, removing the risk of others. So, he wakes a little earlier, with less sleep, only puts on light clothing to alleviate the weight, and then leaves before breakfast to get a head start on the plan, his plan. With only a sword to fight with, this soldier thinks he is smarter and above the orders of the captains.

Soon he finds himself trapped between guards, hoping and praying that someone will deliver him. Wait, that cannot happen because no one knows he is there, or that he is even alone. Not only is he alone, but he is hungry, unprotected, and forced to admit this was not such a good choice. The life of this soldier was lost simply because he wanted to gain the victory alone, be the author of the plan, and put himself above others experience.

No one can battle and win alone. We are all in the fight, and all must gain the battle experience in order to understand the higher plan.

The reason I share this with you is because whether you are a man or a women, the pride this soldier carried is what prevents all of us from victory in our daily battles. What are your daily things you must do in preparation of any battle? These are mine...

- Scripture study

- Daily prayer

- Physical food

- Protective, modest clothing

- A community of support

Recognizing there is a better way is the first step to gaining a little humility in life. Asking questions is not a bad thing. It is the best thing to do to gain a strong footing. Pride will push people you love away, while humility will draw them in, share your struggles, and band together to gain a victory.

Each day is a battle. Who do you stand side by side with? What armor do you put on? My wife is my companion who I stand side by side with no matter what, and I also have brought many others in to support when in need. I do the same for them. I am not any better of a man than another, and with a mindset of humility I can accomplish anything.

If you do not have someone to stand side by side with, let me stand with you. This is what I do for my job, and I want you to have a victory. Sometimes we don't know what we are lacking in our preparation for battle. I invite you to complete the High Performance Assessment to find out how you can better prepare, TODAY!
